Los Feliz modern Residence

My client is a well-known film director. I used to collaborate with him a lot as an art director. Most of his films were staged at his own house so I know every corner of it. One day he asked me to completely transform his house and change the style. He wanted to get a bedroom and a den in one space divided by sliding doors that could either turn it into a big studio or two separate rooms. I had an idea of covering up the sliding doors with heavy velvet curtains which would add a theatrical ambiance. Now we have many options of space modification and creating an atmosphere in it. The interior is set in a minimalistic style and earth colors, influenced by midcentury modern aesthetic. He continues to film new movies in his renovated house. I was happy to combine my experience of an interior designer and a set designer on the project.
