Project Concept: "Terraced Entertainer's Retreat" . My design transforms a compact, sloped plot into a multi-level entertainment hub and functional living space. The concept focuses on: . 1. Vertical Zoning: Leveraging the 3m elevation change to create distinct terraced levels for different functions. . 2. All-Weather Entertainment: Integrating flexible, sheltered spaces (cinema, dining) for year-round use. . 3. Low-Maintenance Luxury: Utilizing durable materials (concrete, gravel, decking) and strategic planting (ornamental grasses, evergreens, deciduous trees/shrubs). . 4. Warm & Atmospheric Evenings: Incorporating mood lighting (fairy lights, infrared heaters) and fire features (mangal) for ambiance. . 5. Seamless Utility: Integrating necessary functional elements (parking, storage, admin) without sacrificing aesthetics. . . Key Problems Solved & Your Solutions: . 1. Significant 3-Meter Elevation Change: . * Solution: Strategic terracing using decking and level platforms. Creation of distinct "rooms" at different heights (e.g., terrace levels). Use of concrete stepping stone paths to navigate slopes practically and aesthetically. Integration of retaining walls (implied by terracing). . . 2. Limited Space on a 12-Sotok Plot: . * Solution: Efficient, multi-functional zoning. Stacking amenities vertically (e.g., cinema terrace above/beside dining). Clever use of overhead space (hanging camp elements). Dual-purpose features (covered parking + shelter, terrace for dining and cinema). . . 3. Creating Usable Outdoor Living/Entertainment Areas: . * Solution: Defining dedicated zones: Outdoor cinema terrace under a pergola, dining terrace with a retractable awning and fairy lights. Inclusion of a BBQ as a focal cooking/social spot. Use of infrared heaters to extend usability into cooler evenings.
