Nostalgy
Russian version . . . . English version . . The bedding imitates facade of very widely spread Soviet prefabricated houses, a lot of them were constructed in times of Khrushev, so they’re called khrushevkas. Each cell of bedding symbolizes apartment with its life inside, each soul, each family and different types of people. Plants symbolize different types of people, preferences in landscape and lifestyle as well. During Soviet times people couldn’t travel abroad, so they were traveling around the country. Three types of people are defined as a symbol of different relations with nature - people that like to go outside for camp house (in Russia called Dacha, real DNA of Soviet person), they don’t like to move a lot, they are conservative, second type - geologists, people that like to go on hiking, have adventures, test themselves, people that were discovering prerias of mongolia, tundra, Far East, Middle East of Russian part, the last type - urban citizens, their connection with nature is poor, so they have only flowers on their window sill that they forgot to water. There are flowers in the "building", but there are “homeless” plants as well, a reference to huge housing crisis that we still have in the world. . . .
