Autoportrait

This painting is about a woman’s contrasting nature; such as mischievous yet serious, desirable yet frightening, beautiful yet strange......almost like a siren or fairy or other-worldly creature. The contrast between grey and crimson red symbolizes the definition between body and mind. I wanted to show how the beauty of our imagination can blossom enormously, as it is the very fabric from which every piece of the puzzle that we call life comes together.
