After heavy rain, water gathered in one place in backyard and drainage stopped working, so basement was full of water. . . What we did: . 1. Backfilled all the holes in the basement where water came in. . 2. Dug down 2 feet along the wall in the backyard and insulated it from water. . 3. Levelled and cemented the ground with a pitch to the drainage.
